About this site
We moved to Spain and learned the hard way how much the paperwork can swallow. The visa, the NIE, the empadronamiento, the cita previa that never seems to be available, the insurance policy that gets rejected for a clause you didn't know to look for. None of it is impossible. All of it is harder than it should be, mostly because the information is scattered, out of date, or written in language built to confuse.
What we publish here is the plain-English version of Spanish immigration: what each visa actually requires, what trips people up, and what to do next. We cite our sources, we date our figures, and we tell you when something varies by consulate instead of pretending there's one clean answer. When the rules change — and Spanish rules change often — we update the guide.
The blog is the free, open part. The VidaEase platform is the tool we're building to take you through the whole journey step by step: your first NIE, the visa file, your TIE in Spain, and the annual compliance that comes after — with the forms and deadlines kept current as the rules move.
If you're somewhere in this process right now, start with whichever guide matches where you are. And if you want the tool that strings it all together, join us at vidaease.co.
